This specification describes the technical requirements and property of cement internal coating for steel pipes. Designating internal coating with cement is an anti-corrosive protection of the pipe’s interior.
Technical information
Sorting and Naming:
- “Regular” cement coating – In this type the coating is made with Portland Cement. Designation: Drinking and irrigation water.
- Protective cement coating – Suitable for lines dedicated for the conduction of brackish water.
The pipes and materials used to make the coating will conform to the standards and specifications which apply to them, as detailed below:
Pipes
The pipes will conform to the requirements of Israeli Standard 530 or 10255. The inner coating will conform to the Chemical Industry requirement 266.1.
Materials
Material including cement, gravels, water and additional materials will conform to the Chemical Industry requirement 266.1.
Coating Layer
The coating is applied in a centrifuge and creates a uniform and compressed layer of internal cement, the thickness of the cement layer is in accordance with the table above.
